Our Methodology
How We Approach Every Service
All three services follow the same underlying process: receive carefully, assess before touching, confirm scope in writing, work methodically, document throughout, return with a written account. The scope and duration differ. The care does not.
Assess First
Written assessment of condition shared with you before any tool is used. No surprises introduced mid-job.
Work Methodically
Each service follows documented protocols. Ultrasonic cleaning, calibre-matched lubricants, multi-position regulation.
Report on Return
A written report accompanies every piece on return. For heirloom services, photographs are included.

Crown and Stem Renewal
A short workshop visit for watches with a worn, loose, or stripped crown. The technician removes the crown and stem assembly, inspects the keyless works and the female threads of the case tube, sources a suitable replacement crown matched to the case finish, and refits the assembly with the appropriate gasket. Where the tube itself has worn, a replacement is fitted only with the owner's separate agreement. The piece is returned with a short note describing what was renewed and what was inspected but left as found.
- Crown matched to case finish and diameter
- Keyless works inspected; condition noted in writing
- Appropriate gasket fitted with the crown assembly
- Written note on return describing findings

Restoration of Dial and Hands
A careful service for watches where the dial has aged unevenly or the hands have lost their lume or paint. The technician opens the watch under dust-controlled conditions, removes the hands and dial, photographs them at high resolution, and discusses the options with the owner in writing. Restoration may be sympathetic — light cleaning of the dial surface — or more substantive, including refinishing of hands and renewal of luminous material. The work proceeds only after the owner has approved each visible change in writing.
- High-resolution photography of dial and hands before any treatment
- Written options (sympathetic or substantive) discussed with owner
- Each visible change approved in writing before execution
- Opened in dust-controlled conditions throughout

Heirloom Calibre Full Service
A complete service for heirloom mechanical watches, often passed down across two or three generations. The work includes full movement disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, careful lubrication suited to the calibre's age and design, replacement of out-of-tolerance parts where suitable spares can be located, gasket renewal, optional gentle case refresh referred back to the owner, and final regulation across multiple positions. Most heirloom services take five to eight weeks. A photographic record of each meaningful stage is shared with the owner along with the final written report.
- Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning of movement parts
- Lubrication chosen for the calibre's age and design
- Gasket renewal; case refresh discussed separately
- Multi-position regulation and final 24-hour check
